Link International Ministries OUTREACH UPDATE (FALL 2019-SPRING 2020)

During the Fall of 2019 and Spring of 2020, we were involved in leadership and Public Policy institutes conducted for religious and community leaders. During the institutes attended by over 50 participants, they were drilled with the concept of servant leadership and the need to make a positive and significant impact that would transform their community and indeed the nation.

Two-day training was also conducted for 30 primary schools’ teachers on structural repositioning of academic and moral performance.

Martin Luther said,
“I am afraid that schools will prove to be the great gates of hell unless they diligently labor in explaining the Holy Scriptures, engraving them in the hearts of youth. I advise no one to place his child where the Scriptures do not reign paramount. Every institution in which men are not increasingly occupied with the Word of God must become corrupt”

These teachers were reminded that they occupy a position that will either make or mar the leaders of tomorrow. They were reminded that God has positioned them to be positive transformational agents of future leaders and must handle their job with passion and dedication.

While in Nigeria, our Executive Director was invited to participate as one of the speakers in an International Intercessory Prayer camp. Over 3,000 youth and church workers attended 4 days fasting retreat (January 1-4, 2020). Friends, we saw the power of God moving, signs and wonders were manifested as the Scripture said. Many for the first time, surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ. We saw many broken before the altar of God, rededicating their lives to Jesus Christ and some answering the call into the mission field. It was marvelous.

Our Executive Director left Nigeria, made a brief visit to Canada during the month of February and from there traveled to South Korea as one of the 16 Christian education consultants from 10 nations invited by Kingdom Education Fellowship, USA, to develop what will eventually become a Global Christian Cyber University. We met from Feb 18-22, 2020 in Pyeongchang, a village near the magnificent site of 2018 Winter Olympics, and envisioned a Global Christian Cyber University.

The focus for the University is to use the place of worship as centers of Christ centered, high quality, affordable, education for all especially, those from poor nations. This kind of education will combine knowledge and professional skills with Virtue. The aim is to start a global education movement that utilizes available technology to “fill the earth with the knowledge of God as the waters cover the sea”. Students will enroll in the University, attend online classes, and have the hub of their schooling be in various local churches.

A Korean entrepreneur, Dr James Hwang, the Chairman of Erom Company and Loving Concerns Ministry has purchased and offered three properties to be used as administrative hub, the international professors’ lounge where subject-matter experts meets on a sessional consultation to help create online curriculum and the main campus of the Cyber university in South Korea:

Outreach Update:During the month of March just few days to the lockdown, our Umuahia office conducted a successful four (4) day entrepreneurial and empowerment training outreach programs for 75 marginalized teenage girls, widows, single parents, and others. Involved as the resource persons were the former Abia State Secretary to the State Government, the Deputy Chairman of Umuahia South Local Government, the Coordinator of the National Human Right, our Acting National Administrative Officer and the Senior Project Manager of Link International Ministries, Umuahia. During the training, the participants indicated their interests in various vocations such as Fashion Design/Tailoring, Hairdressing, Catering and Hotel Management, Makeup Artistry, Petty Trading, Poultry, Fisheries, and goat rearing. Basic Christian worldview that include the purpose driven life was also highlighted during the training. We are presently raising funds to help us empower these precious ladies so they can fully initiate their own small-scale businesses to become self-reliant.

Upcoming Outreaches:The outcome of the consultation conference in South Korea is entering into collaborations with Trinity Education and Virtues Campus both in the USA. Both educational institutions have developed online programs designed toward skill development and utilization such as essential office administration skills, digital training that include basic coding, web design, graphic design, and digital marketing.

The outcome of the consultation conference in South Korea is that we were able to enter into collaboration with online Trinity Education and Virtues Campus institutions both in the USA. Both educational institutions have developed online programs designed toward skill development. Courses will be offered in a blended learning format, meaning that students will experience both online and in-person learning environments. The agencies have already begun training two of our staff in Nigeria as local facilitators after which, they will recruit and register the students that will be trained by them. We are expected to provide and maintain the necessary infrastructure where the program will be operated, including stable internet connectivity, working computers and TV screens for virtual lectures.

As the year 2019 was coming to an end, the LORD spoke to me that “His Presence will go with me and he will give me rest” because your capacity has been expanded” (Exod. 33:14; Luke 10:17-20). Please, join us in prayers as we see the unfolding plans of God for us this year, that we will remain at the center of His will for us. Pray that we will allow His Presence to go before us, with us and behind us. Pray that we will see His power in a new way and that we will allow Him to use us beyond our imagination.
